We drove up to Manchester on Friday and took Mum out for lunch... it was nice to see her on our way up to Silverdale to meet Jenny and Richard and Paul and Emma at the campsite. We all set our tents up and made plans for the next day.... Emma was going to see her family and we were booked onto the Morecambe Bay walk.
It was an early start to drive over to Arnside where we met up with 400 other people and the walk began with a whistle from Cedric. We walked 10 miles across the bay in baking temperatures....wading through deep channels and avoiding quicksand... we were followed by a girocopter and 2 search and rescue vehicles. It really is a wilderness out there. We had a much needed shower and BBQ when we got back.... and a few rounds of "velcro bat and ball" a surprisingly fun game!!
Yesterday we packed up our tent and belongings and headed to Ros and Roys for lunch.... it was lovely to see everyone...Roger was there and Catherine and the kids x
All in all it was a very busy but fun weekend.
