Fiat 500
We landed at Pisa airport, picked up the hire car and drove for about an hour to San Gimignano. Its known as the "medieval Manhattan" as its skyline has many towers.The towers began to appear around 1150 and were built as status symbols and places of retreat during attacks.
We stayed one night in San Gimignano.....the night of the Italy v Spain football match. We watched it in a back street cafe with lots of unhappy Italians.We climbed one of the towers to get a fantastic view of the town and the countryside. There was a perfect black Fiat 500 whizzing around the streets....very cute.
