Sunshine on deer

I was hiding behind the silver birch when this deer came across from next doors field. Such a beautiful animal.
I would like to dedicate this photo to Tels Mum who has had a difficult and painful week. She fell on Wednesday while trying to lift her shopping trolley onto the bus. An ambulance took her to hospital where they discovered she had broken part of her shoulder. She is staying with Jenny for a few days and is going to have help with meals and dressing when she goes back home. Tel went up to see her yesterday. Its been a bit of a worry. Hope this photo will cheer her up. x

Today we carried on in the rain ... and visited the Abergavenny Food Festival. We didnt pay to go into the main bits ... but enjoyed looking around the town and looking in book shops and charity shops...when they are open on a Sunday it is very exciting! We spotted TV chef Valentine Warner walking around the town. There was a lovely quilt exhibition on in a church hall.... unfortunately this one wasnt for sale.

Bouncy castle

We went to Mauris 40th birthday party yesterday. It was a lovely day. There was a great elephant bouncy castle for the kids.... lots of lovely food.... and unfortunately some heavy showers. BBQ in the rain...very british.

Hair and make up

I am trying not to watch reality tv at the moment....its too stressful.

I am wondering were all the "normal" people have gone on TV ....(The Great British Bake Off?)

On most programmes people look too over styled.... they are wearing too much make up.... tottering about on high heels with massive bouffant hair.

I saw a clip of a Big Brother contestant being asked.... who is the current British Prime Minister. It was painful watching him struggling to find the answer.

I saw a clip of a 16 year old girl singing on X Factor.... wearing so much make up she looked about 15 years older.

Oh dear... Its making me feel uncomfortable.

Jigsaw

Today (under the carers funding in work) I sat with an elderly lady and we did a jigsaw puzzle together, while her daughter went out for a short break.

It was good fun. Its been so long since I tried to put a jigsaw puzzle together. Its a great feeling when you find 2 pieces that fit together.

Cycling

Paul and Emma came to stay on Friday on their way back to Manchester. They had been in Cornwall for a week, travelling around in Battenburg... a 50 year old VW Campervan.

We went out cycling yesterday.... which was good fun. We watched Strictly Come Dancing while Tel and Paul went to the pub... had some spag bol later and discussed our various cycling related aches and pains. Ouch.

This morning we watched Wales play really well against South Africa in the Rugby World Cup.....and then they packed up and headed home. Unfortunately...they forgot to take Wilson with them....!

Vitamins

I have been feeling tired recently.... so this week I bought some multi vitamin tablets. Roy would say its " a biggy".... a massive blue tablet. I have a months supply.... so we ll see how it goes. I woke us both up last night when I thought a tree had fallen on top of us and we were stuck underneath it..... this could be one reason why I feel tired?

Things in work are a bit hectic and I am doing lots of stuff like phonecalls and paperwork on my days off. I do feel that I need a break/ holiday from work. (Wont be long now) There has been a lot of negative things in my participants lives this week and it can be hard to take it all on board.

Pass me a biggy!!

We were back on the job today.... and made some good progress with the outside decking area....it looks really nice. We are thinking about painting the window frames in a bright blue or maybe a bright yellow.
There are deer droppings very close to the summerhouse.... I am already imagining the close up wildlife photos.
