Bee on the chive flowers
We spent most of the day in the garden today.... planting broccoli and runner beans in the veg patch, cutting back the nettles and grass, raking up hundreds of small/dead branches from the willow and working on the earth steps. Tel has made good progress with the steps and has almost reached the gate at the top of the garden.

The English Market. Cork.
The Queen ended her trip to Ireland today with a visit to The English Market in Cork.
Cork is a fantastic city.... we loved it when we visited a few years ago.
Wonder if the Queen enjoyed a cup of coffee up on the balcony in the market hall?
Haircut
I dont go to the hairdressers very often... today was my first visit in 8 months.
It was an enjoyable experience today.... and I really should go back soon to have some highlights put in.
I picked up some helpful tips from Paul.... how to dry my hair by brushing it over to the wrong side.... and then back over to the right side. This will create natural volume and style.
Jeremy Irons
I saw Jeremy Irons yesterday.... he had parked a classic motorbike at the side of the road... and was on his mobile phone. Around him was a group of glamourous but casual people.... probably his assistants. He went into the health food shop.
I wondered if he was filming around here. I looked him up when I got home and found this brilliant painting of him and his family by artist Zita Davisson.

High up
Tel spent most of the day on the summerhouse roof yesterday.... nailing and glueing the roof felt into place. Its the sort of thing you see on rabbit hutches and sheds. It has a 15 year guarantee.
It feels good to get the roof done.
Still to do are the windows, doors, flooring and the outer cladding. Tel would like to get hold of some reclaimed boards for the outside.

Meconopsis grandis
The magical Himalayan blue poppy.
It cost a small fortune at the garden centre but it is beautiful. "It is a perennial plant that needs protection from strong sunlight. It flowers from April to May with strong sky blue flowers and yellow stamens."
