Leylandii.

We currently have 3 leylandii in our back garden....and next weekend 2 of them are being cut down.
Before we moved in, the previous owners lopped the tops off them and now they look a bit silly. They are also blocking out a lot of light for our neighbours...so we are taking them down and replacing them with a more interesting and colourful hedgerow.
Luckily it will only take a few big, strong men {and Terence} with a chainsaw to do the job....there are others dotted around the village which would need professional attention.
The 3rd leylandii can stay where it is for now.
We will soon be hiring a sit on lawnmower to tackle the field. Hopefully twice a year will do the trick.
Its a whole new world of gardening for us...we think little and often is the key. Luckily the garden merges into the field...and the field merges into the forrest...so it has a lovely wild look about it. No perfect beds and borders here.
Still...it could be time to buy a petrol strimmer?

Leylandii tress can grow huge and sometimes become a nuisance to the neighbors and also the owners of the property. They block out most of the sunlight. But leylandii is also very useful. Leylandii garden hedges act as a fall and help to keep out unwanted individuals.
