Chico Time.

In yesterdays Guardian....."Take Chico....or to give him his full name, Chico Time. Hes hit on a way to compensate for his lack of vocal expertise:leaping about like a ninny.Chico's performances are so rubbish, they quickly plunge beyond "crap","rotten" or "abysmal", drop off the bottom of the chart, and reappear at the top, next to "brilliant", "visionary" and "epoch making". He inadvertently borders on greatness. As such he thoroughly deserves his place in the contest."

Wigan Athletic.

Who said life in The Premiership would be tough? A quick glance at the table shows Wigan in 4th place....and if results go their way this weekend ,they could possibly move even higher. Heady days at the JJB.

James Thierree.

Last night was the final performance of "La Veillee des Abysses" at WMC. It was a fantastic show....one usher said it had changed his life!!!! Mark told me that James Thierree is the grandson of Charlie Chaplin. Its a shame the audiences weren't bigger...Saturday Night Fever starts this week and it seems a shame that this will no doubt attract bigger crowds.

Michelangelo's Pieta.

Just inside the door of St Peter s Basilica ...is Michelangelo's Pieta. Created by Michelangelo from a single slab of marble...it was unveiled in 1500. The Pieta depicts the Virgin Mary holding the body of her son Jesus Christ after his death. 500 years after it was created...it is now protected by a glass wall. It is the only piece that Michelangelo ever signed...and its impact takes your breath away.

Rome.

We must have walked miles and miles during our 3 days in Rome. Thanks to some great map reading by Tel and our guide books..we managed to see most of the famous landmarks. Our favourite moments though, were walking around the backstreets and looking in the shops and bars..dodging the crazy scooters and trying to cross the roads. We met Olivia, Graeme, Julian and Miabella at The Trevi Fountain...and at Midnight on the 18th Oct we all gathered around a payphone and called Auntie Elaine in Australia to wish her a happy birthday. Despite the crowds, our visit to The Vatican was fantastic. Just great to be there. We visited the tomb of the late Pope John Paul II.

Comment of the trip ...by Graeme.

" I ve only seen 2 italian men wearing thongs so far"

Forever Young.

"May you grow up to be righteous
May you grow up to be true
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.
May you always be courageous
Stand upright and strong
May you stay forever young,
Forever young,forever young
May you stay forever young.
May your hands always be busy
May your feet always be swift
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful
May your song always be sung
May you stay forever young
Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young.

Ninjah.

Ninjah is one of Cardiffs biggest characters. BBC Wales Music say..."unique and legendary MC and street performer, whose favoured musical venture is drumming on a Queen Street bin. Mad as a badger." He can be seen walking around town dressed in bin bags and other amazing outfits. He is very very tall and really stands out from the crowd. Boobytrap Records have now signed him....and on Saturday he paraded through Cardiff dressed as a pharaoh with a group of his "followers", waving welsh flags and placards in the air...promoting his new album. Old ladies looked bemused....who was that crazy man??? It was quite a sight. Good luck Ninja.

CAERDYDD.

What started as a normal day on Saturday ...turned into a great day of "Cardiffness". Luckily I had my camera with me to take some snap shots of this great city and one of its great characters. When you live somewhere for a long time, you become used to the streets and the people..but on Saturday,in the bright sunshine, everything in Cardiff looked fantastic.
