Sailing.

As we sailed into Picton from Wellington...we passed these sailing boats. A few days later we would be kayaking in the same water.

Th best thing about Westport was the seal colony at Tauranga Bay. It was wild and the seals love it.

We had just seen Hector dolphins ...and then we met lots of birdlife on this beautiful island.

Big Kelp on stewart island

Quick call Norris McWhirter.....is this the biggest bit of Kelp ever found. Proably not, but this was just one slimy leaf from an even bigger plant...it was very tough and rubbery ...apparently the Maori used it to make handbags - smelly handbags.

Golden Gate

We cycled from fishermans wharf to Tiburon via the Golden gate! Great way to see San Fran bay.

Lightning near our cabin in Katherine in Northern Territory, Oz. The storms came every evening and were usually spectacular.

On my birthday we all went to The Minus 5 Bar in Queenstown NZ. It was cold...we wore big coats and drank cocktails in glasses made from ice. Cool.

1770 Sunset
