Auntie Angelas Pajero
I spoke to Auntie Angela on the phone last weekend.... and she told me that she had had a car accident whilst in Mullumbimbi .... and unfortunately had written off the Pajero.
The main thing is that she is ok.... but it made me feel sad that she doesnt have the Pajeron anymore. She said she knew it was bad news straight away and looked up to the sky to say "sorry Colin".
Auntie Angela and Uncle Colin bought the jeep more than 20 years ago with some money that came to them after the accident. After Colin died she looked after it and kept it going for over 400,000 miles....Australia really is a big country. She has travelled up and down the east coast so many times in it to Grafton and beyond.....and in recent years she has been towing the trailer tent and setting up on campsites.
Around Kincumber and Gosford everybody knew it was her when they saw the red jeep coming towards them.....now she says people don't recognise her in her new small car.
Here is a photo from our last trip ..... as we drove behind her up the Pacific Highway.

Grace Darling
We travelled up to Rogers on Saturday for the Grace Darling 175th Celebration party. It was lovely to see everyone gathered together to commemorate her daring rescue on that day in 1838.
We wore a little bit of fancy dress.... sou'wester hats and wellies and we put together an inflatable seagull hanging on a stick and named him Jonathan. Ros made a cake with a lighthouse on top. Roger put on a lovely buffet which included Seagull egg quiche and Puffin Pie, lovely homemade bread and Grey Seal and Common Seal cheeses. There was a toast to our heroine and a fun quiz. People used the memorial toilet and a good time was had by all. x

Rose
We caught up with some gardening yesterday and removed a big conifer at the front to reveal a bit more of the view. It looks great without it now....especially in the light at this time of year.
We found this beautiful rose hiding in a corner that we couldnt see before.... I love faded roses.... so lovely.
