Its been a bright and sunny day. We cut back another conifer at the front and the holly bush...and went down to the pub to watch Wales beat England in a very tense 6 nations game. You ve just got to love the Welsh team.

Beautiful clouds today.
The men from Fountains have been out this week, identifying trees up and down the road that are growing too close to the electricity wires. We have 2 that need cutting back. They do it for free and take away all the cuttings.

Jonathan Livingston Seagull - Be

Lost on a painted sky
where the clouds are hung for the poets eye
you may find him if you may find him
There on a distant shore
by the wings of dreams
through an open door
you may know him if you may

We had a delivery of logs for the wood burner this week. Norm said it was a good load. We carried it round to the back door.... a good way to keep warm on a cold evening.

Birds nest and broken egg

While cutting back the fir tree in the front garden yesterday, Tel found a birds nest and a broken egg.
We have reclaimed some of our view now the fir tree has been cut back. Ideally we would like to take it out altogether and maybe replace it with a dead hedge along the wall.

Owen Farrell

While things go from bad to worse for English football...a young man from Wigan is playing well for the England rugby union team, doing his father Andy Farrell proud and helping to improve things there. A new "interim" coach and a fine young captain.... they may almost be likeable again.

Snow

Snow, a photo by Jillian DIxon on Flickr.

We had a lovely day in Buxton on Saturday.... visiting the venue for Paul and Emmas wedding in November. While we were having lunch it started to snow and the gardens looked lovely as we left. Tel bought a bag of broken biscuits for the car journey home...just in case we were stranded. We made it safely back to Cheadle and met up with Jenny and Richard in the evening. We went to Bellinis for a lovely Italian meal.
We called in to see Ros and Roy yesterday.... Jane was there and Mike and the kids. Roger called in too. Ros made some soup and her amazing cheese pie..... it was delicious.
It was a bit of a rush in places ..but it was lovely to see everyone again. We have a few things planned for the next few months so we will catch up again soon.x

All was well when we got home last night. No sign of snow here and Wilson was fine.
