A couple of days were needed to recover from Noels "Lets dance for Comic Relief " performance. It gets better every time you watch it.... and yes I have watched it quite a few times.
Slow worm and permanent marker
Sophie and Mauri came over for lunch on Saturday... and stayed to watch the Wales v Italy game. Mauri is Italian so he enjoyed the match and my special cheesecake with the amaretti biscuit base.
Teo and Albi were very cute .... we played a bit of bat and ball.... hide and seek..... and discovered an early slow worm in the garden. There was a bit of an incident with a red permanent marker... little hands, rug and toilet seat were all involved. Oops!!!
Sophie is expecting baby number 3 in July. We wish them well. x

Grey outside.... pink and yellow inside
When we moved into the house.... we thought that this room was enormous. Now I would say it is cosy and I love it when we put the tv in there and we can put the woodburner on.

"You d know how the time flies
Only yesterday was the time of our lives
We were born and raised in a summery haze
Bound by the surprise of our glory days"

Toms funeral
Toms funeral on Friday afternoon was a very moving occasion. The church was full with Toms family and lots of people from the village. Tom was 93 when he died. His coffin entered the church to "Dont worry be happy". His Grandaughter read a lovely tribute and explained that she thought Tom would live forever.
The vicar said that Tom was a kind and big hearted man, and he would have allowed plenty of room at his funeral for us to remember those we had all lost in our lives.

The Magic Habit Weekend
Ros Roy and Jane arrived on Friday for a weekend of rugby, rain, food, drink and habits.
We enjoyed a tasty chilli con carne, a chocolate mousse (that had set into a solid lump of chocolate), a roast chicken dinner and jam roly poly and custard.
Ros Jane and I went to the rugby extravaganza at the Millennium Stadium.... and watched Wigan throw away a 16 point lead and draw their big game against St Helens 16-16. I loved seeing Wigan again. Tel and Roy stayed here and watched lots of 6 Nations and football action in the pub.
On Sunday we drove out to a castle in the pouring rain... but decided against going in and went to the pub instead and played pool.
It was lovely to have them all here.... Wilson loved pestering Roy.
Roy introduced us to 2 of his latest habits.... banging his head and closing one eye when he is reading the paper. Tel said that excited crowds were gathering in the village to witness the Magic Habit Weekend. Obviously Ros Jane and I are perfect and do not have any annoying habits. Fortunately Tel, Roy and Wilson have a big repertoire to keep us entertained. x

Attention
I felt about 139 today.... not just 39.
It was a bad hair day. I had a pain in my arm/shoulder. And dark circles under my eyes.
I said to Tel..."I think I need some attention..." ie flowers and chocolates and a big hug.
Tel said..."You mean medical attention?"

"Picturesque"
"William Gilpin has become synonymous with the Wye Tour and famous for laying out the complex principles of foreground, background and colour which have so influenced appreciation of what makes a beautiful riverscape."
Today we walked for about 5 miles through woodland, along cliff edges and riverside paths... and even visited a group of caves and stopped at a pub for a drink. Even with grey skies and strong winds it was definitely picturesque out there.

Squirrel of the day
The gale force winds caused a power cut this morning. Tel checked on the summerhouse and pieces of wood had been thrown about but luckily the windows we have moved up there hadnt been broken.
This windswept squirrel came out to eat some old muesli we had put on the step... lucky boy.
