Safe.

London

We had a lovely weekend in London .... staying with Dave and meeting up with Declan on Sunday for a lovely lunch.
Going to see Noel Feildings exhibition at Maison Bertaux was a real highlight. I d looked forward to it for ages and really loved it. We arrived at the Saatchi Gallery just as it was closing for a private viewing...so we walked over to Tate Britain to look at this years Turner Prize nominees. We then caught a very very hot and busy tube over to Brick Lane to have a drink and a curry with Daves new girlfriend Jo.
On Sunday we met Declan for Sunday lunch and a catch up. It was lovely to see him again and we hope he will come and visit us soon.

Happy Birthday Sir Cliff. 70 today.

Stevie Wonder & Tom Jones

Today is my Dads birthday. x
We used to have a white Austin Allegro. Today as I drove into town I saw one go past. I wished it was him and he was driving over to see me. x

Super Wigan

Wigan became Super League Champions on Saturday...beating St Helens at Old Trafford. Jane sent me 10 text messages as the game went along. I watched the highlights on Sunday... it was like going back 15 years... very moving to see Wigan on top again. It reminded me of the days when John Monie was in charge and Wigan were the best week in week out....home and away. When I spoke to Roy today he said he was really happy with the win... but not with the trophy. Hes old fashioned and likes a trophy to have handles.

On Ryder Cup weekend...our neighbours John and Roni got married. On Saturday they had a delicious hog roast and party ...and on Sunday they persevered with a BBQ despite the heavy rain.
It was a lovely occasion... with family and friends and neighbours. The best mans speech was the best we d ever heard.... " I havent known the bride long.... only 27 years".
Congratulations.
