Putty

How long does it take for putty to dry?
Its been 2 weeks since we filled in the gaps around the garage windows with putty...and it is still soft to touch.
Tel has put most of the batons up and the feather edge boards were delivered yesterday...along with a big bag of nails. We are ready to go with the cladding.....it is going to look really good.
We are planning to hire a skip (as a treat at Easter) and clear out the mess next to the garage. We may need help from our neighbours to move the big stuff.

" he's on the 'roids"

The blood test came back today... and Wilson had and possibly still has pneumonia.
He is taking steroids....and the good news is, he is much improved and all his bad behaviour is slowly returning.

Poor Wilson has had a stressful week.
On Thursday I got home from work to find him lying on the bed, not moving very much and having trouble breathing. When Tel got home later, we decided that we should ring the out of hours vet. She advised that we take him down to the surgery... she checked him out and he stayed there overnight. After blood tests and xrays she told us that he may have had a cat version of an asthma attack. He is on tablets now and when some more results come back tomorrow....she will decide if he needs some permanent medication.
He s back home now....back to his usual pest behaviour and breathing normally.
It was sad to think that he may not come back from the vets on thursday.... we have had him for nearly 15 years and he has been our little friend..... always following us about and talking to us in cat noises.
We have some friends who ask how Wilson is before they ask how we are. He s not your ordinary cat. x

Garage

Everytime we pull on to the drive... we always think our garage looks a bit shabby.
So we have decided to clad it in dark boards.
We have been to look at some straight boards and some Waney Edge boards at a local timber merchants. The straight boards are cheaper and prob easier to put up. We first need to tidy up the side windows.....putty and paint.... and then Tel can get cracking on the boards (he loves these sort of jobs). We have seen a local house that is covered in boards and it looks really great... maybe one day we will chip off the pebble dash and go for it here.

50 metre high white horse

I think a 50 metre high stag would be much more magical and exciting.

Strange week.

Its been a funny week....mainly due to the snowy weather.
Stressful at times....I had to cancel my participants today as it was too difficult to get down the hill. I felt I had let them down but then realized that elderly and disabled people dont really want to go out in snowy and icy weather...and they were all happy to miss a week and stay safely indoors.
Stressful too...because our oil boiler stopped working on Tues and we are using the wood burner and an electric fan heater kindly given to us by our neighbour , to keep warm. Hopefully an engineer can come out soon.
So, I was just worrying about these things, when I looked out of the window and saw the most beautiful stag standing in the snow, in our garden. It was fantastic to see him...and the setting was perfect. I took the photos, that I have been waiting for 3 years to take.... a stag in the snow. It was a memorable moment.

We stayed at home this morning and took lots of snowy photographs. The snow looked so lovely.
Tel tried to sledge down....using an old tray but it didnt work!!!
There were lots of strange footprints (from the animal world) dotted about. We identified deer and cat.
