Slightly stained tea towels came out all over Wales yesterday.... following a fantastic match at the Millenium Stadium. Its always great to beat the Aussies. With lovely Ryan Jones as captain and tough nut Shaun Edwards on the coaching team, Wales are looking strong. Its very exciting.

Alpacas and chickens....its the future.

These 2 fantastic alpacas are guarding a flock of chickens in a garden in Dorset. They hiss and spit at any fox that drops by and are keeping the grass down aswell.
We would definitely like to get some chickens sometime soon....we could convert the old goatshed into a coop. Imagine having alpacas too.

The Louisiana

On Thursday night last week we went to see James Yorkston at The Louisiana in Bristol. The show was in a tiny room upstairs and it was very hot and packed with people. During one of the support acts, the man next to us fainted, scattered beer everywhere as he went down and was then sick!!! It was pretty grim....luckily he was okay. James Yorkston was promoting his new album and did a mixture of new and old stuff. He was in good form and invited the 2 support acts to join him for most of his set. He signed of by saying, he would see us all next year when he will have put even more weight on and lost even more hair.

We drove down to Devon on Friday morning, for a 2 night stay in Dartmouth. On Saturday we walked from our hotel along the Coastal Path to Stoke Fleming.... Blackpool Sands was our real destination but it started to rain heavily and we decided to catch the bus from Stoke Fleming back to Dartmouth. The hotel was lovely..and we could see the Higher Ferry crossing the river from our room. It was nice to get away for a few days.

My art group finished today. I have been going there for the past 10 weeks...on a friday morning. It has been a good experience....and I have almost completed a painting in acrylics, in a very different style to my recent work at home. The group was in a local church which has been set up as a studio. The tutor was very good and the people were very friendly. They are starting again in Feb next year....but I may look for an evening group....and definitely carry on painting at home.

Only "Girls Aloud" under the umbrella.

Cathy, Graham and Rhosyn came to stay at the weekend....we went ahead with a few fireworks and a small fire despite the terrible wind and rain!!!
Rhosyn brought her Betty Spaghetty toys with her...."she comes apart but shes so together".... we walked in the woods and went to the pub. Cathy and Graham took lots of photos with their snazzy new digital SLR....songs of the weekend were "You Raise Me Up", "The Promise" and the Mighty Boosh classic "Eels".
It was lovely to see them all.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers-Ch 2 Bless Yore Beautiful Hide

Busy weekend up north.

We drove up on Thursday night to spend a few days with everyone.
We briefly saw Auntie Edna at the Residential Home.....they were having a Halloween party just as we arrived and Auntie Edna was drinking a snowball. We went to the pub with Ros and Roy and then back for some food....Roger was there too. Jenny and Richard had decorated the garden with skeletons and had the chimenea going... we joined them for a drink later on.
On Saturday we walked around Lymm Dam. In the evening we took Mum to the Opera House in Manchester to watch Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and met Paul for some food aswell.
Laura helped me to dye my hair and we talked about her recent job interview and possible voluntary work.
We were pretty tired when we got up on Sunday....and it was nice to get home....put the woodburner on and relax for a bit.
