I am "enjoying" another period of disturbed sleep. Sitting up in bed, walking around, peering through the blinds, shouting, and being convinced that there is someone in the room with us....(apart from Wilson). I sort of half remember all this activity....Terence remembers it very well !!!!
Maybe I am like a female Derek Acorah.....and in touch with the spirit world? There is definitely "something" disturbing my sleep.
So.... all this fun and games in the night...is making me very tired in the day. Bags under the eyes.

And the winner is......

....Monkety Chunkety.

This (very wet) summer we have produced a huge amount of plums....lots of tomatoes.....5 leeks (still growing) .... one fennel....a cucumber....and a big courgette. The apple tree we planted when we moved in produced 5 apples...the enormous apple tree next door has hardly produced any. The grapevine over the patio has lots of tiny grapes on it.... it must have been affected by the rain. My rhubarb shrivelled up and my pumpkin produced lots of flours but no pumpkins. I hope that every year we will grow more and more things, as we work out the best way to do things.

I really like this blurry photo. I like the movement ... and the lovely colours. It was very hot in the field today.... Rhosyn rolled down the last part. Cathy and Graham are in the process of buying a new house ... it has a big garden and out buildings. Being able to enjoy the outdoors will be great for them all..... thats been the best bit for us really.

The Green Man Festival was a bit of an ordeal for me at times. Tramping through the mud after 3 days without much sleep.... desperately searching for a decent loo.... queuing up for expensive food and drink. Drinking lots of cider probably eases the pain....but if your not into that, then being at a festival can be tough going.
The good points of The Green Man are obviously the music....and the friendly atmosphere. Highlights were....Robert Plant, James Yorkston, Joanna Newsom, John Smith,Seasick Steve and Devandra Banhart. The Earlies sounded good from a distance and Indigo Moss too.
Getting home to have a hot bath...and get into our comfy bed was just great. I think I m getting old.

Machynlleth.

Machynlleth is a cute little town in mid wales, with lots going on. I stopped there last week on my way to Abersoch.... I had a flat tyre and needed to find a garage. Machynlleth was the nearest town. We also stopped there on the way home and found a great vegetarian cafe. There is a Museum of Modern Art in the town and lots of independent shops. The area around the town is beautiful.... welsh hills and valleys. Just outside is The Centre for Alternative Technology, which looks really interesting. The drive along the A470 really is spectacular.... and reminds me what a great country Wales is.

Jim, Lisa, Iwan and Luke came to visit yesterday. We stayed around the house, had a BBQ and kept our fire pit going all day... and night. Lisa brought a bottle of Pimms along (25% you know) and we added cucumber and mint for a very refreshing drink!!! Terence earned big Godfather points when he took Iwan and Luke up to the compost bins and fished out a slow worm...it was very exciting , especially for Lisa who had been promised a slow worm as a pet when she was young!!!! We took lots of photos....the kids have both got longish hair now...and they look great. It was great to see them all. Iwan said that we are the "extra parents". x

Things are definitely "sketchy" for Wigan at the moment. They suffered another defeat yesterday at Warrington.....following on from last weeks Cup exit and points deduction for breaching the salary cap. Maurice will step down as chairman in a few weeks and Dave Whelan is selling the club. There could be two little dots of hope on the horizon though...in the shapes of Joe Lydon and Shaun Edwards who could return to the coaching staff at Wigan, if Ian Lenegan buys the club. Wigan need to hold onto Brian Noble as coach and big player Trent Barrett....and hopefully next season will be bigger and better. Didnt we say that this time last year??????
