Alan Partridge - Dantes Fireplaces

We are loving Alan Partridge at the moment. I love this clip....he has just put his foot through a spike and is in great pain. Very funny.

Goings ons....

Strange things have been occurring.
Twice in the past week, I have been talking with people about emotional issues....discussing worries and concerns. On the first occasion a framed picture jumped off a shelf behind us. On the second occasion a globe of the world jumped off the shelf next to me. Put this together with my strange night time habits....walking, talking...I am often convinced there is "someone" in the room with us.....it all seems a bit wierd. My Auntie Edna would say I am feeling a bit "septic" !!!!!

I blame it on the crows myself. They are definitely disturbing my good vibrations!!!! Especially at 6.10am on a Sunday morning!!!!!

We are seeing if we can grow some vegetables in big pots...on the front step. We will be bringing them inside every night, so the deer and the rabbits cant munch on them.We are trying...courgettes....cucumbers...chillies....sweetcorn...french beans...and a pumpkin. Its a bit of an experiment really.....we ll have to see what happens. Tel is in charge of the tomato plants....which he is growing from seed at the moment. We are going to grow carrots, onions, fennel and leeks in the veg patch...and we bought a netted tunnel this weekend to cover them. The idea of growing our own veg is very appealing... lets hope some of them are successful.

Note to crows......the spikes have arrived!!!!

Motel Blues

We went to Bristol last night, to see one of our all time favourite people....Loudon Wainwright III in concert at The Colston Hall. His support act was his daughter Lucy. She was really good and they later performed a few songs together. This was our 6th Loudon concert....we have seen him in a variety of places.....from Ebbw Vale to Los Angeles. He is never disappointing....always funny....and he always brings a tear to the eye. We love you Loudon.

As well as being under attack from a pair of demented crows.....we now have pheasants pecking at the windows. The pheasants are lovely, funny characters who have quite a gentle peck really....compared to the nightmare that is the crows.....who are the bird equivalent of the football hooligan. They hammer at the windows with their enormous beaks....and I fear that soon they will break a window. We have hatched a plan with our neighbours...who are also being terrorised by the crows.....its not a pretty plan....but we have lost our sense of humour about this now!!!!! Our neighbours have lived here for 8 years and have never had this problem before.....its very odd really.
Ideas on the web for getting rid of crows include.....
1. buy some penguins.
2. buy a fake owl.
3. buy a paint ball gun.

Enjoying the Easter sunshine.

Enjoying the Easter sunshine.

Mum, Paul and Laura came to stay over the Easter weekend....luckily the weather was brilliant and we spent most of the time outside (lighting fires!!!!)
On Saturday we went to Raglan Castle, and then on to a Point To Point near Abergavenny. It was quite a posh do.....lots of Prince William look a likes....and Range Rovers , with people sipping champagne. They were charging a small fortune to park... but once we had got over the shock, we enjoyed the racing and the atmosphere. Paul won £27 on his first bet....we all got very excited about this!!!
On Sunday morning we went to a car boot sale at Tintern Abbey...and bought lots of interesting stuff. Laura went down to the river for a paddle later on....it was her first visit and she said it was "well good".
While she was here, Laura gave Wilson a "street name"....we now call him Wilbo.

Cherry and Whites.

Wigan beat Widnes on Sunday, in a fantastic April Fools Day cup tie on the BBC. Great tries. Pitchside analysis from the one and only Joe Lydon. Slow motion replays of Trent Barrett and Pat Richards....very nice. Genuine handshakes at the end of the game between both sets of players. Wigan have been drawn away to Leeds in the next round.....that will be tough. Wigan were the first ever winners of the Challenge Cup at the old Wembley in 1929.....can they be the first team to lift the trophy at the new Wembley in 2007.
