Farewell Dennis.

I fear that the end is nigh for Dennis. Well, Laura told me that Johnny Allen shoots him, so it all sounds a bit final. And he's just found out he's going to be a dad too. Eastenders won't be the same without him. Many people think that Nigel Harman cant act....but his smouldering good looks will be missed.
To help me through this impending upset...I know I will be going to see Guys and Dolls in March...thanks to a superbly inspired Christmas present from my friend Gail. She has got us tickets for the show in London...and we will be sat in the 3rd row from the front!!! I hope I can control myself..and don t do anything too embarrassing?
Tissues at the ready...goodbye Dennis.

Boxing Day at Haigh Hall, Wigan.

Bin men....are they bothered?

It seems that if you are a bin man around here....you dont need to pick up all the rubbish on collection day. No...you can leave some of it in the street. Then on a windy day, this left over rubbish blows around the street and into peoples front gardens. Yesterday I picked up crisp packets, 3 pieces of polystyrene, a poster, some ready meal containers ,a plastic bottle and of course the usual Macdonalds "stuff". Nobody else seems prepared to go out and pick up the rubbish....just me!!!! Is everyone else happy to live with litter and rubbish floating around them? I wish people would have more pride in their surroundings...and try and keep our streets tidy.

Is that Michelle Pfeiffer?

They were filming Dr Who at the end of our street last night. Last week we had 7 cyborg men stomping past our front window!! I walked down to have a nosey....and spoke to a traffic warden who had been roped in to stop any cars getting too close to the action.
I said "Which one is Dr Who?"
He said "Its the man in the long black coat....
...and thats Michelle Pfeiffer over there."
I think he meant Billie Piper.

Keep a cool head.

We are now on the rollercoaster ride that is buying and selling a house. We accepted an offer on our house last week...which was great news after 6 months of viewings. We then discovered that the house we had put an offer on nr Monmouth, had received a higher offer....and we now have to rethink. Can we afford to up our offer...or do we have to start looking at properties to buy all over again? I think the key is to take things a day at a time and to keep a cool head. Things can go wrong, people can pull out, surveys could be disasterous....its going to be an expensive and stressful business. I think I need a stiff drink!!!

Lovely Nigel Harman.
